Second Annual Epiphany Party Warm Fun!!

ago bago eOn a frosty January Sunday evening members of the North Shore AGO gathered at the home of Dean Andrea Handley.  Andrea’s amazing holiday décor and cozy fireplace provided the perfect setting for our annual Epiphany party.  We enjoyed wonderful food, warm conversation and a little holiday fun to wipe away the exhaustion of the hard work of Advent and Christmas.

ago fago cAndrea had prepared a lovely dinner served on her beautiful Lenox Christmas dinnerware.  How many Christmas plates did you say you have, Andrea?  Certainly enough for a crowd!  We enjoyed a delicious chicken casserole, green salad, cranberry salad, asparagus, and rolls.  Dessert included two of the most luscious cakes!  Thank you, Andrea!

ago dago aFollowing dinner we were entertained with Christmas piano duets: “Sleigh Ride” performed by Andrea Handley and Sharon Peterson, “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen” performed by Kathy Roderer and Laurie Stivers, “Frosty, the Snowman” and “Jingle Bells” performed by Bev Sheridan and Jill Hunt.  We tested our knowledge and perception of Christmas songs with riddles from the archives of Jill Hunt.  If you weren’t there try, “Nocturnal timespan of unbroken quietness,” or “In a distant location the existence of an improvised unit of newborn children’s slumber furniture.”To find the answers you will have to come to the party next year!  We wrapped up the evening with hearty singing by all of John Rutter’s arrangement of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Thanks to Andrea and to all who helped in the kitchen, participated in the program or came and enjoyed a wonderful evening.  Since we have declared this an annual event, plan to join us next year!
