A notice from ONCARD very recently informed us that Alan Whaley is our newest eager member. He would therefore be our 101st member! Please be sure to welcome him! This reminds us that all current members, whose membership renewal date is July 1, 2014, will soon receive an email reminder from the AGO national office’s ONCARD system (On-line National Collection and Retrieval of Dues). You will notice on page 7 of the April issue of The American Organist that dues have increased slightly. We can be thankful that our national organization continues to maintain very black ink–unlike so many entities that we could name.
The bank account of our North Shore Chapter currently holds just a bit more than $45,000. This unusually high balance is, of course, the result of the $33,411.24 December 2014 deposit from the dissolved ChicAGO 2006 Foundation. (See the January 2015
Overtones.) Without that 2014 deposit, our bank balance would read about $12,000, and that would historically over the past seven years be an average bank balance for
April 1st of a calendar year. Your Chapter Board works to manage our resources carefully while planning chapter events, and is currently considering options for responsible future investments.
