The costs surrounding the Sunday, April 26th organ recital by Yun Kim at St. Ita’s amounted to approximately $2000. This included Kim’s contract, travel expenses, program printing, reception caterer and reception beverages. Generous in-kind services included publicity poster, organ tuning/maintenance and entertainment. The Chicago AGO Chapter shared with half of the costs.
We know that organ recitalists’ fees are among the lowest in the classical music world. Many people benefit from these low costs, probably even a few rather hungry attendees who enjoyed the convivial reception! If you think of AGO membership fees, about twenty members’ dues were needed to cover the cost of this excellent event.
We welcome Matthew Prins of Buffalo Grove as our newest member! We hope to greet him on June 1st at our annual meeting. Don’t lose the emailed invoice that you’ve received from the national ONCARD system. This can provide easy access information for the next time you visit the site to renew your membership for 2015-2016.
