So the Autumn winds are now blowing and the leaves are really beginning to fall!
October was the eighth month in the old Roman calendar but still kept the ‘8’ title when the calendar was switched to the new order.
In this month of October, there are just an incredible number of very important observances in the various countries of the world. Interestingly this month has several dates for special observances along with quite a few month-long celebrations. Of course in the United States there are sports-related, health-related, culinary events along with single-day events such as Reformation, Halloween, Yom Kippur, Columbus Day, Diwali and most obviously require very special music.
Yes, the choir season has begun in all religious institutions and of course most colleges/universities with a musical department. I do trust that all our AGO members are now really very active in so many rehearsals and performances. Even though we are active in our musical programs be sure not to forget the work of our North Shore AGO Chapter and its many programs and events for the next season. Always check the North Shore Chapter website for constant updates of the coming programs and events in the next few months!
It certainly should be mentioned that I am sure that most of our members obviously did hear the glorious music of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, This I am sure was so inspirational for all of us.

Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;

North Shore Chapter AGO Board News
Recently word was received that Beau Surratt, elected in the last election as the Treasurer of the Chapter, has resigned his position. Fortunately one of our current Board members has volunteered to take this position. To make this official the Board then moved that James Janssen be elected at Treasurer of the Chapter. With a second to this motion, the vote proceeded with a unanimous vote. Welcome to the Treasurer position James!! Now we need to fill his previous three-year term.
