Dear Friends,
It has been said that an optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in, while a pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. If you were beat up by 2020, I can understand if you and those around you are anxious to see it go.
I love a phrase from a much loved carol of this season, “A thrill of hope; a weary world rejoices…” This lyric feels particularly significant after the kind of year 2020 has been. Each of us has experienced weariness in new proportions and our hearts have ached for a steady hope.
May the prospect of a new year, the promise of a vaccine to eradicate COVID-19, and faith in the eternal give you renewed hope and joy.
Warmly,
Judy Kohl, Dean
