Saint Matthew Lutheran Church & School Organ Concert
Saint Matthew Lutheran Church and School in Hawthorn Woods where I serve as Principal Organist will be receiving a brand new Rodgers Infinity 361 digital organ of 3 manuals and 5 divisions which will be installed Mid-May in the main sanctuary succeeding the 2 manual 1983 Allen ADC 5000 digital organ that served the congregation faithfully for 35 years.
There will be a special concert on Thursday, June 27th at 7pm highlighting the new organ featuring Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass in a program of organ and brass. Pre-concert prelude will feature the new Rodgers Infinity 361 at 6:45pm with selections performed by Michael Gagne. This is one of several dedication concerts that is free and open to the community. We plan to incorporate Psalm 150 to be in dialogue between the Pastors, Congregation and Organ!

We at Saint Matthew’s have asked Dan Miller, noted concert organist, composer and Tonal Director Of Rodgers to perform on the dedication series recital which will happen in September. He will give a master class the day before on the new organ and Triune Music is encouraging the AGO North Shore members to attend and will be a free event! Once we have solidified the date I will send out a formal flyer. Dan has personally overseen the construction of the Rodgers at the Hillsboro factory.
Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass will kick off the dedication series on Thursday, June 27th at 7pm and I will give a short recital at 6:45pm to officially introduce the new organ to the audience.
Dr. Steven Wente from Concordia Chicago is also scheduled to be on the series later in the fall.
