Someone You Should Know: Paul Vanderwheele

No stranger to the North Shore AGO,  Paul has belonged to the chapter since the late 60s. You will enjoy learning more about him through his short bio.

For my college training I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Eastman School of Music where I studied with David Craighead, and received a Bachelor of Music degree in 1967. After Eastman, I went to Northwestern University and received a Master of Music degree in 1970, studying with Karel Paukert, and playing recitals in Millar Chapel and Lutkin Hall.

I was appointed organist for North Shore Congregation Israel, Glencoe IL in 1972, and have been there since.  I have played for Northminster Presbyterian Church, Evanston IL since 1991.  I also played for the choral department rehearsals and concerts at Libertyville High School for about 15 years.

I recorded a CD with the Chicago Brass Quintet at North Shore – ‘Music for Brass and Organ’ at North Shore.

I was on the NSAGO board in 1972 when we had an AGO convention presented by the North Shore Chapter.
