Mark Lee holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Benedictine University, Lisle, where he studied organ with Rev. John Palmer, and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the American Conservatory, Chicago, where he studied piano with William Browning. He also holds a Diploma in choir training from the Royal School of Church Music, and Carillonneur certification from the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America.
Currently serving St. Paul Lutheran Church, Skokie, as organist, choir director and director of the handbell ensemble, Mark is also Director of Music for St. Bonaventure Oratory in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. He also regularly plays the carillon at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe.
Previous musical positions have been at Sixth Grace Presbyterian Church, Chicago; St. Procopius Abbey, Lisle; St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Naperville; Congregation Beth Shalom, Naperville; and Royal Conservatory Examinations, Toronto.
Mark divides his time between a Chicago Streeterville residence and his family’s farm in western Illinois. He also maintains a studio in the historic Fine Arts Building in Chicago’s Loop.
