I regularly travel to the Christ Church of Oak Brook where I am the principal organist. Every week, I prepare for the weekly Sunday services and build my recital repertoire. I also write organ music for publication and continue to record videos.
I am so blessed to have an organ available to me, even during a pandemic. It has 80 ranks, 4,452 pipes, 7 divisions, 4 manuals, and 74 registers. The console is Allen (2002), but it was originally Austin Organs (Opus 2161.1978).
I turned my living room into a piano studio to practice at home. I have a Yamaha Digital Baby Grand Piano that I connected to my computer for recording, a Young-Chang Upright Piano that I received from my father as a wedding gift, and a Hammond A100 organ that I use to practice jazz tunes. Not only do I use this room to practice, I often use this room to record my published works and upload them on YouTube to share with church pianists.
I also have a workstation with my computer and midi keyboard connected so that I can both write on Finale and record digitally. This space is where I make all my music, practice daily, and a learning center. Please feel free to visit my website and find my works at www.mariannekimmusic.com.
