The Chicago-Midwest Chapter of the Organ Historical Society is the local chapter of the Organ Historical Society which celebrates, preserves, and studies the pipe organ in America in all its historical styles, through research, education, advocacy, and music. Founded in 1980, the Chicago-Midwest Chapter has grown in size and prominence and has hosted national OHS conventions in 1984, 2002, and 2012. The chapter typically hosts and organ tour in the Autumn and Spring to see and hear organs in several different churches throughout the greater Chicago area. Unlike AGO chapters where members automatically become members of the national organization, the National Organ Historical Society is a separate entity from the local chapters throughout the country.
