Dean’s Column
September 2019

Although our seasons seem to be running a bit late this year (summer took a while to show up), we are indeed ready to begin our fall programming for our North Shore Chapter.

In just a few weeks, on September 22, we will host our opening event at Christ Church, Winnetka at 4:00 pm. Please join us for a welcome reception as you reconnect with colleagues, followed by a program designed to inspire your own music planning. We’ll hear a series of short presentations on new and useful organ, choral, and handbell repertoire. Bring your own favorite sheet music to show to others too! You might even have some you would like to pass on to others.

Just over a month ago, then Prime Minister Theresa May appointed a Minister of Loneliness to her cabinet. This week a Forbes article suggested that loneliness may now kill more people than cancer. This was a poignant reminder that we each have many opportunities to make a difference in the life of someone by just reaching out. Perhaps this event would be the perfect time for you to invite someone to come along with you.

I look forward to seeing you in just a few weeks.

Warmly,
Judy Kohl, Dean
