Organ Scholarship Initiative
It has been decided that we will offer the Organ Scholarship Initiative program again this coming Summer of 2020. Our previous participants have been so pleased that we want to include others as well. Since the Regional Convention the NSAGO is hosting in June, 2020, will preclude our hold the program that Summer, we’ll offer the program again Summer 2021.
If you’re not familiar with the Organ Scholarship Initiative, you can check our website for details and application forms for both Teachers and Students. Simply put, our marvelous members offer to teach three free lessons to interested students of any age and skill level. These students also receive a free membership in our NSAGO Chapter for the following year.
The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen our commitment to the future of Organists. We endeavor to equip people with increased skills, dedication, and understanding the Organ. Whether serving as Organist in church, synagogue, concert hall, or simply playing as a hobby, these lessons and engagement with the NSAGO have proven to be valuable experiences.
Please consider teaching this next Summer. In addition, please consider donating to the NSAGO’s Scholarship fund, since this covers the cost of the free student memberships.

Member Update: Tom Coombs
Word was received Saturday that long-time Millar member Tom Coombs passed away on December 4 following complications from an auto accident.
Tom worked on the installation of the Spofford organ in Alice Millar Chapel and gave generously toward recent additions to the instrument. He probably traveled farther than anyone else to attend services through the years, and we shall keep him and his niece and family in our prayers.
The visitation and funeral will be on Saturday, 12/14/19 from 1:00-4:00 at:
Meadows Funeral Home
3615 Kirchhoff Road
Rolling Meadows, IL 60008
