From Michael Gagne:
This past week, I had the once in a lifetime honor to perform a virtual organ recital, by invitation of Dr. John Sherer, on the magnificent 5 manual, 143 rank Quimby pipe organ at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. This magnificent pipe organ is presently, the largest pipe organ in the Miidwest!
This was such a wonderful way to end the week and was very much honored and humbled to have been asked to share the gift of music with Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago, and the community through the internet. You can, if you would like at your own convenience, view the organ recital here…
Dr. John Sherer, Mr. Chris Norton, and the staff were more than welcoming and made me feel right at home during my visit to Fourth Presbyterian.
There is also a program that can be downloaded from the weblink. Composers performed were Me, Roland Erismann, Diane Bish, Sir Edward Elgar, Denis Bedard, Leon Nelson, Marcel Dupre, John Behnke, John Williams, and Alexandre Guilmant.
The program is no more than 1 hour and promises to be engaging. I wanted to keep the theme of familiarity for the audience since we are in difficult times and thought hearing familiar music may bring comfort to someone watching.
Peace and Blessings to you in your music ministries.
