Kawai RX2 Piano for Adoption

Pam Smith writes, “I’m a widow whose husband had a passion for music, but never went pro. I have a Kawai Piano belonging to my late husband for adoption. No one near me has a room for the piano at this time. Let me know if you would like to have the piano or know anyone who would appreciate the instrument.”

Contact Judy Kohl if you would like this piano at Judygkohl@gmail.com

12th Night Fox Valley AGO Program – January 9

Our January 2022 program: 12th Night Fox Valley AGO Program in Batavia program is being moved from my house due to the covid virus.  We will be meeting the same day (as previously announced,) January 9th  at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln Street in downtown Batavia. (The corner of Wilson and Lincoln Streets.) Bethany Church has a large parking lot (south side of the church), and NO steps. The place is large enough to easily “social distance.”  This is true for both the Sanctuary and the Fellowship Hall. We have a professional caterer who will be “doing” our party refreshments.

We will begin at 4 pm with a program of Epiphany (and Christmas) music played by you! Bethany Church has a fine 3M Aeolian-Skinner organ—a joy to listen to and play—with multiple memories.

Following our program (at about 4:45) we will have a Twelfth Night social event in the Fellowship Hall. The church is celebrating their 150th Anniversary in 2022, and we are the “first event” of their celebration year. This will help “swell” the audience for our program.

If anyone from North Shore wants venture out into the “wilds” of the Fox Valley, they are invited to attend. So, if you plan on coming, let me know.

Happy New Year!

I just received this notice about Robert Reeves, former organist/choir director at St Matthew’ in Evanston. I imagine that some of you knew or at least knew of Robert. He was a friend, and a very kind, funny, and talented man. Sad day.
