Dean’s Column

Americans will consume 818 hot dogs every second from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I’m not sure who figures these things out….but I do know that this is the season most of us take time out to do things outside the realm of music. If you haven’t been to a Cubs game, strolled the Botanic Gardens or dined outside at your favorite restaurant – don’t miss the opportunity to do something to celebrate summer.

Though our programs have officially ended for the year, there are plenty of opportunities to hear wonderful music throughout the area. Hopefully our paths will cross throughout the summer at some of these events. If not, we have a great year planned beginning with our opening program at Christ Church, Winnetka on September 22, at 4:00 pm. We as a board hope you will plan to join your friends and colleagues at this event as well as those to follow.

If you come across an interesting news article or have an upcoming event you would like included in the Overtones, please send them to my attention at our AGO address (agonorthshore@gmail.com).

Meanwhile, enjoy these endless days of summer….just ignore the rain.

Warmly,

Judy Kohl, Dean
