Recent Event Review | Organ Crawl on November 7, 2020

Chaired by Susan Klotzbach and Derek Nickels

The 2020 Autumn Organ Crawl for the North Shore AGO and the Organ Historical Society was a virtual event featuring the organs of four churches in the northwestern area of Chicago. The instruments include the 1981 M. P. Möller organ at Saint Peter’s United Church of Christ in Skokie, the 1962 M. P. Möller organ at Bethany Korean Presbyterian Church (formerly Saint John’s Lutheran Church) in Lincolnwood, the 1974 Lawrence Phelps & Associates organ at Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Skokie, and the 1961 AeolianSkinner organ at Edgebrook Community Church in the Edgebrook neighborhood of Chicago.  The organists of each church, Derek Nickels for Ben Westphal, Padraig Mc’Guire, Mark Lee, and Alan Hommerding, shared interesting information regarding the instrument and played a variety of pieces showing the tonal resources.  The videography was done by Matt Leske.
