The Rockford Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is pleased to invite you to attend the Pipe Organ Encounter Plus (POE+), a week-long summer conference in northern Illinois.
This exciting week-long experience is designed espe- cially for adult beginning and intermediate organists. You will be the guest of Rockford Chapter AGO. You will receive assistance and ground transportation to area churches and auditoriums to see, hear and play area pipe organs – outstanding examples of why the pipe organ is “The King of Instruments!”

Overview
POE+ for adults offers organ instruction in basic technique, pedaling, registration, hymn playing and sight-reading. POE+ provides a unique opportunity for participants to meet and interact with peers. Additional topics include organ literature, pipe organ building, and preparation for the AGO Service Playing Certificate. The Rockford POE+ is the only program of its kind in the Midwest in 2022. Financial aid may be available from your local AGO chapter or from religious institutions.
Faculty
Nationally and regionally acclaimed organ faculty will teach lessons and lead workshops; some will perform. Included are Tyler Canonico, Isabelle Demers, Steven Egler, Jill Hunt, Peter Yardly – Jones, Naomi Rowley, Claire Rozier, Victoria Shields and John Wigal. Isabelle Demers will perform our opening concert.
Accommodations
Lodging discount will be at Staybridge Suites, Bell School Rd, Rockford . The discounted rate of $109.95/ night plus tax will be available until May 6, 2022. Ask for the POE+ room rate when booking. We recommend having a car for transportation around Rockford or consider using a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft.
