
Lutheran Church of the Atonement
General Description: Lutheran Church of the Atonement seeks a part-time musician and worship leader to oversee our traditional worship service, choir, and ensembles. Embraces Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Atonement.
Responsibilities:
Plays organ and piano and leads music for the 9:00 AM traditional worship service
Directs and leads rehearsals for the 9:00 AM choir and 9:00 AM musical ensembles
Plans worship services and with Senior Pastor for 9:00 AM service and co-coordinates special services for Easter, Christmas, etc. with the Contemporary Worship Director and Senior Pastor
Supervise 9:00 Accompanist, Cantor, Bell Choir Director, Volunteer Usher Coordinator, and Volunteer Worship Assistant Coordinator
Coordinates soloists and instrumentalists for 9:00 AM service
Qualifications:
Seasoned and accomplished organist, pianist, and choral director. Masters degree (or qualifying experience) in music, church music, or other related degree
Demonstrated skill and competency at the keyboard, particularly organ, piano, and working knowledge of other instruments
Ability to lead handbell choirs, preferred but not required
Knowledge of Lutheran liturgical practice and use of music in worship
Ability to work with volunteers and amateur musicians and vocalists
At least three years of experience leading traditional worship services
