TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT for ORGANIST
• play our tracker organ (described in the Immanuel Music Outreach Initiative Brochure referenced above)for Sunday morning, Christmas Eve, and Holy Week services (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil); choose, prepare, and perform appropriate to the liturgical season prelude, postlude, offertory, and communion music; accompany congregational singing of hymns, psalmody, and liturgy
• on rare occasions, play the piano when directed by the Pastor and/or Music Director as result of worship planning considerations
• be available to accompany the choir occasionally as agreed upon by the Organist and Music Director (choir sings the Sunday after Labor Day until Trinity Sunday)
• attend worship committee meetings (4-6 per year)
• arrange for and meet with substitute organists when occasioned by vacation or excused absences and in that regard please note that Immanuel has an Associate Organist and Emeritus Organist who can act as substitutes
• oversee organ maintenance and schedule tunings and repairs
• assist with the organ scholar competition as requested by the Music Director also as described in the attached brochure
• additional duties as assigned
• have 4 Sundays off a year, with responsibility for engaging a substitute and providing necessary materials and information to the substitute in a timely manner
• part time position with no additional benefits
· The church agrees to an annual salary of at least $15,500 to be paid in monthly installments at the end of each month.
